Workshop 2 – Hands on: METAPROTEOMICS MASS SPECTROMETRY

Mass spectrometry-based metaproteomics has tremendous potential in the analysis of the microbiome, both in terms of taxonomy and functions. The protein space of microbiome samples is much larger and stupendously more complex than those classically obtained in single organism proteomics. This huge diversity requires high-performing tandem mass spectrometry and efficient strategies.

Participants in this workshop will learn the basics of tandem mass spectrometry and sample preparation protocols for metaproteomics, the current challenges in mass spectrometry, and tips for successful metaproteomics.

Participants will visit the ProGénoMix platform, located near Bagnols-sur-Cèze, and equipped with five high-resolution tandem mass spectrometers (Transport from and to Avignon will be organised).

Attention, limited number of places for this tutorial!
